I've just this afternoon started wearing a new pair of glasses, in which the left eye prescription has changed slightly. I now have a headache, and it also seems to be making my nose run on that side. Is this normal? I've not had a change in prescription since I was about 15, so can't remember much about what it was like previously.

Is there any good way of 'breaking in' new glasses in such a way that you don't get a headache at all? I guess if there is, working at a computer (which is what I have been doing) probably isn't it...

OTOH glasses technology seems to have moved on somewhat since I got my last ones however long ago, and these ones seem about half the weight despite being cheaper. And they make me look even more dashingly handsome than before, if you can believe that.

Yes this is pretty normal (apart from the runny nose, which I suspect is a cold - everyone else in the UK seems to have one this week, so that's the smart way to bet). Take all the regular breaks from the screen that you know you really should but never do, take a painkiller if necessary to stop yourself getting into a headache vicious circle, and the odds are that you'll have no problem at all when you put them on tomorrow morning.
