Weekend doings etc

undyingkingA lovely sunny weekend over here, which made the garden go completely mad after the extensive rain of the week. All the nicer for sitting out in!
On Saturday we playtested a new murder mystery party game, Casino Fatale. Many thanks to LJ luminaries such as![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
smiorgan, triskellian and thefon for coming up to make up the numbers -- this was a 20-player game, and we ended up with a good mix of old hands and novices. I haven'tstarted on the formal feedback process yet, but impressions on the night were that it seemed to basically work OK, so hopefully not too much to do before we can get it on sale!
We spent most of Sunday in the Lord Nelson, lunchitme with the first two abovementioned and evening at the pub quiz with friends Paul and Christine, in which we triumphed by the narrowest of margins -- thanks in part to successfully guessing what object Alan Pettigrew of Loch Lomond threw a distance of 55.11 metres in May 1984, still the world record. (Any ideas?)
This morning I've been productive for once, and moved into the next stage of playtesting Kleptomania! This is the game about thieves and police that I posted about here a while ago -- it's now moving on to automated daily turn-processing, so if any of you would like to join in, give feedback, trounce the existing thieves, etc, please do come on over.
