Windows 98 problem
Jan. 31st, 2006 04:26 pmAnyone out there remember the happy days of Windows 98 SE? T's pc has a problem -- it boots up apparently OK, but freezes within about a minute of finishing populating the desktop. In safe mode, though, it's fine. I've done the obvious things like turning off all the startup gubbins, but no joy. Seen this sort of thing before?

Hosting recommendations

anyone out there recommend a good not-too-expensive domain hosting service?
I need it to include at least these features:
100MB or so space;
unlimited, or impressively high limit, bandwidth;
PHP 4.0.6 or later;
Perl 5.005 or later (NB not Safeperl);
MySQL 3.23 or later;
unlimited email addresses;
respond quickly and knowledgeably to emails;
and that fairly usual kind of jazz.
Or, equally usefully, a good review / comparison site, to see the contenders side-by-side.
I've been using Low Cost Names for a while now, but although the service is generally good I'm getting increasingly unimpressed with their support people's lack of clue when something does go wrong. (As it has today, in case anyone's been trying to mail me.)
