We've been in Norfolk for a long weekend, staying in a cottage in Overstrand, just east from Cromer. Known formerly as the Village of Millionaires, there weren't many such apparent when we were there, although we did stay in what apparently used to be Churchill's garage.

We had some very fine food, walked along the cliffs, pottered about, read books (in my case Captain Johnson's excellent General History of the Pyrates), visited the gardens of Felbrigg Hall and other such lazy diversions. Not really enough sunshine to just loaf about on the beach soaking up rays, but maybe I shouldn't be quite so keen on doing that anyway, these ozone-layer-free days.

Back to the joy of 1400 email messages waiting to be downloaded -- one of my work addresses seems to have made it onto a new active spam list. But two of them were drafts of the latest stage of two new games, which is always fun and exciting. Summer is a slow sales time, so we hope to do quite a bit of developing the range before it starts getting busy again in September.

T has the rest of the week off so has been labouring in the garden. My turn comes tomorrow when I've promised to step away from my desk for a while in order to dismantle a treehouse, severely prune a sycamore, and fell a row of twelve-foot leylandii -- so we can put in a veg patch at the end of the garden. Wish me few blisters.

I've not kept up, what job has T got now?

Felling the leylandii will be fun, I removed 18 from Wokingham, had men in to remove most of the stumps, but left a set to train things up, as they don't resprout (or rot).

I was told they poison the ground, but there was no evidence of that. The blackberries grew very happily there.

She's still with Mencap, project managing stuff as before, but with a reduced area -- Essex, Cambs, Herts and a few leftover bits of London and Surrey that for some reason she hasn't got rid of.

Thanks for tip re the stumps, I'll leave them in if she'll let me...

This one is in an area the previous people used as a chicken pen, so hopefully the ground will be extremely fertile (albeit rather smelly to dig over).
