I gave my friend Ori a lift to Stansted to get her plane for a brief trip home to visit her new nephew / godson. After an hour-and-a-half drive, got there to find that her flight had been cancelled thanks to a strike of French something-or-the-others. Had still been fine when checked on website before heading out! Got her transferred onto tomorrow's flight (assuming strike is a one-dayer -- if it's not, we'll cross that bridge tomorrow), had a coffee at the airport Pret, and went back to the car to find battery as flat as a flatworm. 2 hours of AA-waiting later, got car working again -- established fault was in fan not shutting off hence draining battery while we were in airport. AA man disabled fan altogether and sent us on the road, warning not to sit in traffic for too long (which is, of course, something I normally choose to do). Got home about 3 and now I actually have to start work for the day :-(

Well, that PC actually seems to be running a bit smoother since I turned off all the startup junk, so every cloud etc! ;-)

Woes with your air car can be very serious, particularly if the engine conks out at 1000 feet.
