Awake, Ill Limb!

This was inspired by reading about Holy Tango in the journal of the esteemed
jackfirecat , and is (if you like) a riposte to Lamb-like Wail.
Awake, ill limb! that served me wrong
Awake! and set thy hand to song.
Bring not thy feeble pipings here,
Instead write songs of joyous cheer.
The sky grew dark -- the limb did wail,
"I have not mind to tell the tale!"
The sky grew light -- the limb did sigh,
And write another, by and by.
So what am I, but such a limb,
Still writing, while my light grows dim?
If I must write, and serve my Art,
Then write I Love with all my heart.
