It's basically a Tenori-On, as made famous (in this country at least) by Little Boots.

Ah, cool. I had heard mention that she used a Tenori-on, but hadn't ever found out what it actually was. In that case, minus several points for originality.
(Hmm, the real thing seems to start around 500 quid. Maybe I will make do with this online one for now.)

Bill Bailey used one on his last tour as well, improvising with it by having the audience suggest patterns he should "draw".
