The results disappointed her

Well. Quite.

Me, I'd be a Quajnumeth.

I see myself as more of a Dawfisp.

Some of them don't sound like names at all to me. Murbix sounds like some deeply unpleasant healthfood. Lisrix sounds like some kind of medical brand name. Hoxzauwhuk looks like someone's cat walked across their keyboard. Or possibly some kid's World of Warcraft character.

Lisrix sounds like some kind of medical brand name.

Or a ship.

(Again I am amazed by how quickly Google trawls LJ -- this post is already a hit for lisrix.)

I'm not convinced it does trawl LJ per-se. It probably updates directly from the raw XML feed on a continuous basis.

But this post is not yet a hit for Murbix, so if so it's not a very through process.

That's really odd!

This morning I would have to classify myself as "Gronch". I may, perhaps, later mutate into Boppum (depends how many customers I have to deal with) or alternatively Koldak....

Koldak

Sounds like unholy crossover between Kojak and Poldark. "Who loves ya, Demelza?"

There's a fictional detective called Koldak. I wonder if the writer got the name from this list. Or maybe it's Kolchak plus Kokjak.

If I ever need unusual names for an RPG (PC or NPC), I shall come back to this post. :o)

They reminded me slightly of names of characters in Jack Vance's books. I wonder if he used the same sort of system for generating them.
