Couple of interesting things

A new idea from BT -- the notion is that everyone who has broadband from them can opt in to open up their hub to everyone else who's also opted in. If enough people do it, you'll have free wifi Interweb connections wherever you may roam. Of course, if enough people don't, it falls a bit flat, and at the moment there are only four such points in Ipswich showing on their map. They claim it's all very secure and so on... but I'm kind of wary. Fortunately, I don't really have any use for such a thing, anyway.
MyStrands is (yet) another music listening / recommendation thingy. I came across it via this rather neat graphic of listening history / connectivity. There seem to be quite a few nice side-projects like this growing out of it, because they've opened up the API to quite a large extent.

Date: 2007-10-17 04:28 pm (UTC)I'm on the unlimited option not for the reason you suggest but because I do an awful lot of low-bandwidth movements, so it wouldn't bother me too much -- if I could actually see any significant benefits.
