A fun but busy weekend here at
undyingking Towers. Lots of boring DIY stuff relating to sheds, carpets, garden etc on Saturday, but more interestingly on Sunday we went to Bungay to meet up with
ginger_ratbag and sprog while her Al was running a marathon. If you are of the camp that think all babies = beautiful, or alternatively all babies = yuk, this will mean nothing to you, but if you are inbetween then learn now that Jenna is an extremely lovely baby with an elfin face and long gorgeous eyelashes. Apparently she gets these from Al's side of the family, so will have to hope she won't also get his beard. (And Bungay really is not a place to visit on a Sunday, in case you were tempted: everywhere was resolutely closed.)
We had to zip off before the race had finished, to meet other people back in Ips, but did manage to come by way of the St Peter's Brewery, of beloved fame to people who were at our wedding. A selection box and some damson gin clanked home with us, so visit quick before they go!
This morning we had to get up at 5.30 so T could conduct her packed work itinerary. (I know some of you have to get up at this sort of unearthly hour all the time, in which case mcuh sympathy, but it's still a bit of a shock to the system for me.) The car has finally gone in for the repair work after our deerstrike of November, so this'll be an interesting few days of finding out just how dependent on it I've become. (The insurance co did offer us a courtesy car, but T bravely said we could do without.) As long as it's back with us by Easter so we can take my dad down to my sister's in Hove...
News of my other sister, the doctor, for those of you who know her: she emailed me to say if we hadn't yet booked tickets to visit her in Tanzania in July, don't, because she might not be there. Instead she might be in Namibia, Vietnam or Papua New Guinea. No follow-up email explaining, and I can't get hold of her by phone, so the situation remains a mystery. But I guess this means we might be holidaying in Europe this summer by train, which is something we've talked about for a while.
Hope you all had a good weekend too!
