There went the summer

The other day I posted a summery music quiz, and here are the results:
  1. Summer sun, something's begun - John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, Summer Nights (everyone got this)
  2. A little voice inside my head said / Don't look back, you can never look back - Don Henley, The Boys of Summer
  3. Oh when I look back now / That summer seemed to last forever - Bryan Adams, Summer of 69 (everyone got this too, although I thought about deducting a half-point for people who called it Summer of '69...)
  4. Playing games in the rain / The hills and the fortune / Won't be the same again - Dodgy, Staying out for the Summer
  5. The summer's really here and it's time to come out / Time to discover what fun is about - The Undertones, Here Comes the Summer
  6. You can stretch right up and touch the sky / When the weather's fine - Mungojerry, In the Summertime
  7. I know where the summer dwells / If your underarm smells / And your kitchen looks like hell - Belle and Sebastian, I Know Where the Summer Goes
  8. One of these mornings / You're going to rise up singing - Terry Hall, Summertime
  9. Walk about in summer rain / And all my troubles washed away - The Primitives, Summer Rain (no-one at all got this one -- well, I had to include one obscure but underrated favourite)
  10. When the night comes with the action / I just know it’s time to go / Can’t resist the strange attraction / From that giant dynamo - Abba, Summer Night City (only one person got this!)

Classics all! -- although not necessarily in a good way, in all cases.

A good spread of scores: [livejournal.com profile] dr_bob 6, [livejournal.com profile] wimble 8, [livejournal.com profile] thecesspit 9, [livejournal.com profile] brixtonbrood 10, [livejournal.com profile] fractalgeek 12, and [livejournal.com profile] bibliogirl a mighty 14 to take the (imaginary) trophy. Thanks all for taking part!
