Breadmaker recommends sought

My beloved and much-used breadmaker has packed in (I think we have a gremlin at the moment -- TV, DVD player, and now this all gone in the last couple of weeks) so I'm looking for a new one. Anyone got a recommendation, or indeed a disrecommendation? Things I'm looking for in it:
  • not bothered about features relating to jam, cake, adding nuts, all that stuff, I just use it to make ordinary bread;
  • loaf shouldn't come out too tall;
  • don't need huge capacity, I only really make 500-750g loaves;
  • the breadmaker itself should also not be huge;
  • easy to keep clean, ie. not with a great void around the bread pan for ingredients to fall into, etc;
  • dishwashable would be nice;
  • the blade not sticking in the bread at the end would also be nice.
Any thoughts much welcomed!

DVD player gone? Boo, hiss (somehow I suspect it probably was out of warranty by now).

I love my Panasonic but it probably would fail on several of your points; it's quite large, as is the bread it makes, and the bread is also quite tall. But if they do a smaller model it would probably be a good one.

Mm, the drive motor went: it'd had a good amount of use, to be fair, and was much appreciated at the time and since! (Impressed to see that its replacement, which has all the same functionality, cost £17.99 at Sainsbury's *boggle*)

Yeah, I think Panasonic only do ones of that size unfortunately...
