Vaccinating cats

How often do you folks vaccinate your cats? We've tended to do them pretty much annually as suggested by our vet, but it seems there's quite an undercurrent saying that that's unnecessarily often for protection, and may be exposing them to excess risk of complications from the injections (eg. fibrosarcoma). OTOH I believe catteries won't take them if they haven't been vaccinated in the past year -- not that we've had to use a cattery yet, but who knows, we might one day...

Any thoughts / feelings?
