Albums made up entirely of cover versions -- the homage of genius to genius, or a heap of self-indulgent tosh? Results vary, opinions differ, but the fashion for musicians who've reached a certain level of establishment to revisit an assortment of favourite songs seems to be eternal.

But it's not always easy to guess who might be keen to cover whom -- so here are a few examples for you to guess or recognize. Each question lists three artists -- the question is, who has released an album containing covers of songs by those three artists (and maybe others)? A point for the identity of the coverer, a further point for the name of the covers album. (Hmm, that looks quite complicated now I write it down... hopefully it makes sense!)

The quiz )

Any other good covers albums not included there that you'd recommend, as particularly good or particularly dire?

So congratulations to the esteemed [livejournal.com profile] dr_bob and thanks to everyone who took part!  I'll make the same challenge next season, so get your predicting boots on...

Edit: I've disabled comments on this, as for some reason it was getting a load of spam.
