The book I am reading:
Several at once, but notably the new Twilight Robbery by Frances Hardinge. Highly recommended of course!
The book I love most:
Difficult to name just one really. Perhaps Diana Wynne Jones's Charmed Life.
The last book I received as a gift:
I got a few at Christmas... Max Ernst's Une Semaine de Bonté might have been the latest of those, from my sister.
The last book I gave as a gift:
In Spite of the Gods, by Edward Luce, for my dad.
The nearest book:
Xenophon's The Persian Expedition, in Rex Warner's translation. On the cupboard just behind me, where I emptied it out of my laptop bag after last time I went to London on the train.

you are silver
#C0C0C0

Your dominant hue is red... you are passionate, energetic, and unafraid of life's changes. You're all about getting out and trying something new, even if it means taking risks that other people would be afraid of. Hey, if they're afraid and you're not, more power to you, right?

Your saturation level is very low - you have better things to do than jump headfirst into every little project. You make sure your actions are going to really accomplish something before you start because you hate wasting energy making everyone else think you're working.

Your outlook on life is brighter than most people's. You like the idea of influencing things for the better and find hope in situations where others might give up. You're not exactly a bouncy sunshine but things in your world generally look up.

1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The article title is the name of your band.

2. http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four words of the very last quotation is the title of your album.

3. http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/
The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

4. Use your graphics programme of choice to throw them together, and post the result.

I think this picture would make a pretty good album cover photo actually. Although probably not with typography like that.

6th level! That's pretty cool. Am I party leader?

"can be a dangerous alignment because because it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable"

Yeah, right, Rand-boy. I'll limit your actions with an Explosive Runes if you don't STFU.

I Am A: Neutral Good Human Sorcerer (6th Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-14

Dexterity-10

Constitution-13

Intelligence-16

Wisdom-14

Charisma-13

Alignment:
Neutral Good A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias for or against order. However, neutral good can be a dangerous alignment because because it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Sorcerers are arcane spellcasters who manipulate magic energy with imagination and talent rather than studious discipline. They have no books, no mentors, no theories just raw power that they direct at will. Sorcerers know fewer spells than wizards do and acquire them more slowly, but they can cast individual spells more often and have no need to prepare their incantations ahead of time. Also unlike wizards, sorcerers cannot specialize in a school of magic. Since sorcerers gain their powers without undergoing the years of rigorous study that wizards go through, they have more time to learn fighting skills and are proficient with simple weapons. Charisma is very important for sorcerers; the higher their value in this ability, the higher the spell level they can cast.

I generally try and avoid these things, but this one is just too cool:

Ocelot! But will it still be the same after 12 days of you lot tinkering with it?

You scored as Storyteller. You're more inclined toward the role playing side of the equation and less interested in numbers or experience points. You're quick to compromise if you can help move the story forward, and get bored when the game slows down for a long planning session. You want to play out a story that moves like it's orchestrated by a skilled novelist or film director.

This thing from Microsoft claims to predict demographics based on search terms used and urls visited. It reckons for example that if you're reading this journal you're 51% likely to be male and 47% likely to be 24 or under, whereas for LiveJournal as a whole the figures are 54% and 49% respectively, and for [livejournal.com profile] venta* it's 50% and 45%. It also throws up different results for individual posts, althoug some return no result.

No clue as to where their base data comes from, maybe from evil monitoring within people's Internet Explorers?

You might have seen this entry from the other day, talking about LJ tag popularity graphing. The inventive [livejournal.com profile] bateleur  has devised a scheme to make "moose" the top tag in time for Christmas. All it needs is for you, yes you, to include "moose" among the tags for every entry you make from now until then. You can use this url to monitor how the project's going!

The other important thing is, of course, you should repost along these lines in your own journal, so that all your friends can also particpate in a viral manner. Isn't LJ fun sometimes?
